Each Christmastime, I like to put together one traditional and one whimsical holiday tablescape. This year, I partnered with Vietri to dream up this colorful nutcracker themed table.
Inspiration
I love nutcrackers! I love that they come in all different shapes, sizes and colors and each one has unique details. I’ve been collecting them since my early 20s at antique stores, big box retailers, thrift stores and boutiques. If I come across a nutcracker that I like I buy it – even if it’s the middle of the summer! I especially love mini and small nutcrackers. During the holidays, I like to place them on shelves, console tables and around the house to immediately add a touch of fun, whimsical holiday decor. My girls love playing with them and acting out different stories. While I love that they enjoy them, a few poor nutcrackers have been left with cracked arms, feet or lost parts.
Vietri Tabletop Items
I knew Vietri’s nutcracker collection was the perfect place setting for this table. I used their nutcracker dinner plates and salad plates for each place setting. Maestro artisan, Gianluca Fabbro, recreates a Christmas classic with bright colors and a cheerful holiday design on Vietri’s nutcracker collection. I wanted a more formal feel, so I paired them with Vietri’s Raffaello banded wine glasses that played into the gold elements of the table and their Aladdin brilliant five-piece flatware setting in green.
Additional Table Details
There were many more details that brought this table to life. I wanted a deep, jewel toned table runner against a white tablecloth and found this gorgeous Anthropologie nutcracker runner that fit the bill. I knew I wanted to center the table with a large, full centerpiece of colorful roses and found a gold mercury glass vase at Homegoods to hold them. I then used my vintage milk glass vases to hold additional roses on each side of the table.
I used vintage milk glass candlesticks paired with Caspari french blue candles. I kept the placemats simple with natural woven circular mats, but found the cutest embroidered nutcracker napkins on Etsy to add to each setting.
My Style
To match the elegance, yet playful tablescape, I wore a deep navy velour dress with a cutout back and large bow. I paired it with my Tiffany & Co. pearl necklace.
