This colorful critter table was inspired by my Lucy Grymes scalloped purple paper placemats and their fun paper cocktail napkins with colorful critters on them. I thought, “why not make a really bright, fun table that’s full of whimsy?” So, I did!
Starting with the purple dot paper placemats from Lucy Grymes, I used purple as a starting point for the color scheme. I love yellow and purple together so I decided to pair them with these yellow swiss dot napkins that I picked up at my local Homegoods.
From there, I knew I wanted to use simple, natural elements for the dinner plates, glasses and flatware so as not to disrupt attention from the colorful accessories. I used my natural wrapped lattice water glasses from Amanda Lindroth, the iconic bamboo plates from Juliska and my bamboo flatware from Pottery Barn.
For florals and the centerpiece, I decided to go with a purple wildflowers and white tulips in natural wrapped vases and I used my Lucy Grymes vase wrappers on my smaller vases.
Using my white flora taper candlesticks from Anthropologie Home added contrast to the colors. Then, I used a yellow set of Caspari taper candles to go with the yellow napkins.
I needed a dress that was as colorful as my table, so I put on my favorite Smith & Quinn shift dress, The Sophia dress in Bella Bloom.
