Decorations + Rentals
For Katie’s 4th birthday party last year, she asked to do a fairy theme. I knew our lakeside yard would be perfect for this whimsical theme. I drew inspiration from the Meri Meri fairy decorations we incorporated and the Great Pretenders fairy costumes I got for the girls.
I worked with a small local rental company to rent the pastel peach bounce house and the kids tables, chairs and linens, but you could purchase a kids folding table and Chiavari or acrylic chairs from Amazon or Home Depot for a few hundred dollars (which I intend to do this year for Katie’s 5th birthday!) Over the last year, many more boutique bounce house companies have come onto the market, so I plan on doing some additional research on Orlando-based bounce house options for this year’s party and will share more about that in April.
Tabletop + Favors
For the kids table setup, I used a simple white linen and put a place seating at each seat with Meri Meri fairy paper plates, toadstool napkins, paper cups and wooden cutlery. Each child got a Mondo Llama fairy house painting craft set and a fairy head garland as a party favor.
Cake + Food
I got Katie’s birthday cake from Valhalla Bakery in Orlando. They are a vegan bakery that has the best cakes I’ve ever had, vegan or non-vegan! I added fairy cake toppers from Meri Meri to add a little whimsy to the cake. Most importantly, we had a separate table with fresh fruit, vegetables and wine and beer for the adults and grilled hotdogs and hamburgers so that everyone had enough to eat. When you’ve got littles running around, everyone needs a full belly for energy!
